Martial Arts in Albany Park

The Degerberg Academy in Lincoln Square is a truly special place. The staff and instructors welcome everyone — from the littlest ninjas to kickass, black-belt martial artists. The instructors are terrific with kids, teaching MMA with a terrific blend of discipline and positive reinforcement. My son has thrived here athletically and mentally. Everyone here knows him and cares about him — Degerberg has made us feel like part of the family! ❤️

My son joined Degerberg Academy couple months back and let me just say he loves it. He has learned so much within the past few months. Sir Danny is great with all of us. All the sensei are great with him. He enjoys going to class everyday. I’m glad I found something he enjoys and looks forward to everyday. Degerberg Academy is the place to join! I will definitely continue bringing him here!

The Degerberg Academy of Martial Arts is simply the best school in Chicago. It runs more like a University than a martial arts school. There are different classrooms that offer different martial art from around the world. The instructors are well trained and courteous. It is an amazing training facility for adults as well as children. The best Chicago has to offer!

If you have been hesitating about which Martial Arts school to go to, it should be Degerberg Academy. I've been sending both of my boys ages 13 and 9 to Dagerberg for over a year now, and it has been one of the best decisions I have made. Both of my boys have thrived at the academy and find the instruction engaging and fun. Their confidence and self-discipline have improved vastly, and they are never bored. The variety of the different martial arts and disciplines the school teaches is impressive and each instructor has their own unique style of teaching. My children are happy and love going to class. I highly recommend Degerberg Academy!

Whether it’s confidence, self defense, or preparing to compete, it can all be found here at Degerberg Academy! I felt welcomed and comfortable from day one. In my experience, the foundation of their teachings are in the basics which is then elevated through progress. I started attending since 2007 and have formed many bonds here. Degerberg Academy is forever my home and my family. Highly recommended!!!
